Army Chief hosts Arshad Nadeem at GHQ

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir on Friday hosted Arshad Nadeem. who won a gold medal for Pakistan at the Paris Olympics 2024.

“The ceremony took place at the Army Auditorium of General Headquarters (GHQ)”, said Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a press release.

According to the military’s media wing, the Army chief praised Arshad Nadeem for winning the gold medal for Pakistan and setting a new Olympic record.

Army Chief General Asim Munir reaffirmed his commitment to fully support athletes and empower them. He emphasized the importance of hard work and perseverance in overcoming challenges and achieving success.

According to ISPR, the Army Chief reiterated his commitment to supporting the youth in achieving a prosperous Pakistan and stated that the entire nation has recognized Arshad Nadeem for his achievements.

Arshad Nadeem expressed his gratitude to Army Chief General Asim Munir. The event was also attended by legends such as Jahangir Khan, Islahuddin, Shehbaz Senior, Sohail Abbas, Muhammad Asif, and Aisam-ul-Haq.

Earlier on August 13, Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif hosted Arshad at PM house and announced Rs 150 million for the star athlete.

The Prime Minister has announced that the road between the F9 and F10 sectors will be renamed after Arshad Nadeem.
