LONDON: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif (PM) on Saturday said that Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Syed Asim Munir has played an important role in securing the International Monetary Fund (IMF) loan.
He also appreciated his cabinet’s “teamwork” for paving the way for the IMF deal.
The PM also acknowledged the efforts of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and China made in securing the fresh IMF programme.
PM Shehbaz added that the events of May 9 are unforgivable and that those involved will only be granted forgiveness if they offer a sincere apology.
While refraining from naming the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, said that the previous government did considerable damage to relations with China.
He added, “Our economy is improving which is also endorsed by the IMF representative Nathan Porter.”
