Army will continue to play role in ensuring peace in KP: COAS

PESHAWAR: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Syed Asim Munir has said that armed forces of Pakistan will continue to play a vital role in ensuring the peace and stability of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He said this while attending the meeting of the provincial apex committee along with caretaker chief minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, said a press release issued by the Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR).
The army chief, along with other participants, reiterated their commitment to the protection of the lives and assets of the public.
He expressed gratitude to the martyrs and hailed their tremendous sacrifices.
The COAS said that in the pursuit of national development, stability, and peace, it is essential to strengthen cooperation among all stakeholders.
Gen Asim Munir also participated in a women’s symposium and addressed the gathering.
He acknowledged the significant and positive roles women have played in Pakistan’s history, emphasising the crucial importance of women’s contributions to the nation’s progress.
The COAS highlighted the immense challenges faced by the women of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in their relentless struggle against terrorism.
“Despite these challenges, the women of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have demonstrated unwavering determination and courage,” he said.
“Women in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and adjoining regions have actively participated in the development of their communities,” he said.
