Arrest warrants issued for Lahore govt lecturers refusing election duty


LAHORE: Government lecturers on Wednesday, faced arrest warrants for refusing to fulfill their election duties.

The decision to issue these warrants came after it was determined on Tuesday that those failing to perform their election duties would face consequences. The Returning Officer (RO) in the provincial capital took action by ordering the arrest of a teacher.

Additionally, in NA 121, an arrest warrant was issued for a lecturer from Kot Khawaja Saeed who refused election duty. However, there is no information available regarding whether the woman was apprehended.

ROs have emphasised that strict measures will be taken against anyone obstructing the establishment of polling stations, particularly in private schools. One incident involved a private school near FC College initially prohibiting the setup of a polling station. However, after a warning from the RO, the school complied and allowed the establishment of the polling station.
