LAHORE: Punjab Sports Minister Faisal Ayub Khokhar recently met with Olympian Arshad Nadeem, renowned for his prowess in javelin throwing.

Arshad is a celebrated figure in Pakistan’s athletic scene, and he has been making waves internationally with his exceptional talent in javelin throwing, representing the nation on numerous prestigious platforms.

During the meeting, Sports Minister Khokhar pledged unwavering support to Arshad for the upcoming Paris Olympics, ensuring him of all necessary resources and assistance needed to excel on the global stage.

“Arshad Nadeem is the pride of Pakistan,” said Sports Minister Khokhar, adding, “After decades, Pakistan’s hopes of an Olympic gold medal have been rekindled”.

Confident in Arshad’s potential, Khokhar stated, “God willing, Arshad will clinch the first track and field medal for Pakistan in the Paris Olympics.” He assured that all essential resources would be provided for Arshad’s training, reaffirming the government’s commitment to nurturing talent in the sports arena.

To facilitate Arshad’s training regimen, the Sports Department announced the appointment of a dedicated focal person at the Punjab Stadium in Lahore, ensuring seamless support throughout his preparation journey.

Moreover, in a bid to bolster the nation’s sporting infrastructure, the Sports Minister shared that work will begin soon on the construction of the Arshad Nadeem Stadium in Mian Chanu.
