During the hearing, Haris Rauf and Sahibzada Farhan reportedly left match referee Richie Richardson “speechless” while explaining the 0–6 gesture and their celebration styles.
Haris asked the match referee, “What does 0–6 even mean?” Richardson responded: “You made the 0–6 gesture, and the Indian board has raised an objection.”
Haris replied: “Let the Indian board explain what they think 0–6 means.” Richardson said the board believed the gesture was being linked to something inappropriate.

The match referee responded that in the context of the match, it appeared as taunting the opposition. Farhan countered: “Dhoni and Kohli have done the same in the past.”
Richardson said the gesture made the Indian side uncomfortable. Farhan replied: “Dhoni and Kohli did it in cricket matches too — what was so special or different this time?” Richardson said the objection had come from the opposing team and board.
