ISLAMABAD: Australia has rolled out a major facilitation measure for Pakistani visa applicants, allowing them to submit key application requirements directly through their smartphones starting today. The Australian Immi App has been launched for this facilitation service.
According to Australian High Commissioner Timothy Kane, applicants can now upload passport details and provide biometric information using the Australian Immigration mobile app, eliminating the need for in-person submissions at visa centres for these steps.
The new system is expected to significantly streamline the visa application process for thousands of Pakistanis who apply each year for travel, study, business, medical, or family visit visas to Australia, which is one of the world’s most sought-after destinations.
Australia issues several categories of visas, and applicants must first determine the purpose of their travel before applying. The process traditionally requires filling out a detailed 13-page visa form, ensuring that all information is accurate, complete, and consistent.
Applicants are also required to provide essential supporting documents such as a valid passport, national identity card, bank statements, reason for travel, and other relevant proof.
Officials say the smartphone-based submission system is aimed at improving convenience and reducing processing delays, making it easier for Pakistanis to navigate the visa application procedure.
