Avastin injection affected 68 patients in Punjab so far: Dr Javed Akram

LAHORE: Punjab Caretaker Minister for Specialised Health Care Dr Javed Akram has said that the Avastim injection has affected 68 patients in the province so far.
While addressing a joint press conference along with caretaker Minister for Primary and Secondary Healthcare Dr Jamal Nasir in Lahore on Tuesday, to probe the matter, a committee comprising microbiologists has been constituted.
Dr Javed Akram said that services of the forensic laboratory will also be taken to probe the injection scandal.

Addressing the press conference, Caretaker Minister for Primary and Secondary Healthcare Dr Jamal Nasir lauded the role of the media in highlighting the Avastin injection scandal.
He said that meetings of the Provincial Service Quality Board were being held on a regular basis and indiscriminate action was being taken against eleven drug inspectors. INP
