Azma Bukhari criticises Fiza Ali over controversial live TV performance

LAHORE: Punjab Government Information Minister Azma Bukhari has strongly criticised actress and host Fiza Ali over a controversial act performed during her live “Fiza Ali Show” last week.

In an interview, Azma Bukhari said the actress had gone “too far to boost ratings,” adding that social media users widely condemned the performance as an “immoral act.”

“Days are gone when moral values used to be respected; Fiza Ali crossed the limit,” the minister said, strongly condemning the incident.

She further remarked that such actions appeared to be aimed at increasing viewership ratings, adding that the host should have considered the presence of viewers, including children, during the broadcast.

The controversy emerged after Fiza Ali’s performance during a morning show segment drew widespread criticism on social media, with many users calling it inappropriate and unacceptable for television.

Following the backlash, the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) issued a show-cause notice to the television channel airing the programme.
