WEB DESK: It appears that the Pakistan’s selectors have almost completed the lineup for the upcoming T20 series against South Africa, with the official squad announcement expected in the coming days. Earlier this week, Pakistan emerged victorious against the visitors in Lahore test.

According to Samaa TV, Babar Azam is set to rejoin the shortest format after being rested for recent fixtures, bringing leadership and experience back to Pakistan’s batting order. His return is seen as a key boost ahead of the home campaign.

Both teams arrived in Islamabad and received a warm welcome as traditional shawls were presented to them.

Fast bowler Naseem Shah, sidelined for months due to injury, has been declared match-fit and is likely to spearhead the pace attack with Haris Rauf and Hasan Ali.

Insiders according to Samaa said the selection panel has focused on achieving balance by mixing senior players with promising youngsters. Batter Saim Ayub and wicketkeeper Mohammad Haris are expected to retain their spots as part of Pakistan’s future plans, while underperforming all-rounders Khushdil Shah and Hussain Talat could miss out.

The white-ball leg of South Africa’s tour begins on October 28 in Rawalpindi, with the remaining T20s scheduled for Lahore. Ticket sales are already underway, offering fans a chance to witness Pakistan’s first full home series of the season.
