Babar Azam suffers hand injury during warm-up match in England

BECKENHAM: Pakistan Test captain Babar Azam left the field for medical attention after being struck on the hand while batting on the second day of the ongoing warm-up match against the Pakistan Cricket Club Select XI in England.

According to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) sources, Babar’s injury is not serious and there is currently no cause for concern.

The team management and doctors examined the batter before advising him to rest as a precaution.

Babar was hit on the hand while batting and immediately sought medical attention. Following an assessment by the team doctor, the management decided to give him further rest to prevent the minor injury from worsening.

PCB sources said Babar could return to bat for Pakistan in the warm-up match if required. Initial indications regarding his injury are encouraging, with no major concerns reported at this stage.

The team management is closely monitoring Babar’s condition and fitness, while a decision on his participation in upcoming matches will be taken after further assessment.

Babar’s departure from the field had caused concern among fans, but the PCB sources’ assessment that the injury was not serious provided reassurance.
