The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Wednesday updated its ODI and T20I rankings, with Pakistan batters experiencing mixed fortunes across the formats.
Babar Azam has slipped two places to ninth in the ODI batting rankings following a series of low scores, including in the ongoing tri-series hosted by the Green Shirts, which concludes on Saturday. England’s Ben Duckett has moved up six places to eighth with 679 rating points, taking Babar’s previous position.
Similarly, Salman Ali Agha has dropped one place to 13th. He had previously climbed to 12th after scoring 107 runs in Pakistan’s tri-series opener against Sri Lanka, helping his side secure victory.
No Pakistani batter features in the top five of the ODI batting rankings. India’s Shubman Gill leads the list with 841 rating points, followed by New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell with 794, India’s Virat Kohli with 781 and Rohit Sharma with 770, while Afghanistan’s Ibrahim Zadran sits fifth with 752 points.
Sahibzada Farhan, meanwhile, has improved his position in the T20I batting rankings. He climbed one place to second with 883 rating points, moving 13 points ahead of India’s Ishan Kishan. India’s Abhishek Sharma leads the rankings with 897 points.
In the T20I bowling rankings, Pakistan’s Abrar Ahmed retains third place, while Salman Mirza has slipped one position to 14th.
In the Test batting rankings, England’s Harry Brook remains at the top, while Babar holds 15th place and Saud Shakeel 17th. Pakistan have no batter among the top five in the format.
