QUETTA: As a precautionary measure against the alleged presence of a potential female suicide bomber, the caretaker government in Balochistan has imposed a ban on rallies and electoral meetings in Quetta.

In a tweet, Caretaker Minister of Information Jan Achakzai announced that “the government of Balochistan has banned public meetings and election gatherings in Quetta as a precautionary measure against a potential female suicide bomber. All political parties and candidates are advised to conduct their meetings indoors to minimize the risk. The government of Balochistan prioritizes public safety while acknowledging the importance of election campaigns.”

Meanwhile, the Balochistan government has announced the suspension of internet service at sensitive polling stations on February 8.
