ISLAMABAD: The Property (Mosque Management) Rules have been enforced in the Federal Capital Territory, consequently, controversial sermons from mosques and imambargahs will be prohibited.
Under the 1986 rules, all registered and unregistered mosque committees in Islamabad have been dissolved.
Instead of the 1986 rules, the 2023 rules have been enforced in all mosques and prayer halls in Islamabad, under which no controversial sermons can be delivered from mosques and prayer halls.
According to the rules, a qualified religious scholar will be appointed as the Waqf manager of mosques and prayer halls in Islamabad, who must be a qualified religious scholar or trustee of the mosque and prayer hall.
It has been stated in the rules that the Waqf manager will be appointed, who is bound by all laws, and if included in Schedule Four, the Waqf manager will not remain.
According to the rules, all conditions of the mosque manager will also apply to the administrator of the mosque, and without the permission of the mosque manager, no scholar or preacher can deliver Friday sermons or any lecture.
It has been stated in the rules that the Waqf manager will also be responsible for all matters in every mosque or prayer hall.
