BASSETERRE: In the second Bangladesh vs West Indies one-day international (ODI) match, the Tigers’ batting lineup faced a tough challenge against the Windies’ bowlers, leaving the team all out in 45.5 overs. 

The West Indies made an early breakthrough, dismissing Soumya Sarkar (2 off 5 balls) at 26 runs, courtesy of Jayden Seales. This wicket was the first in a series of setbacks for Bangladesh. 

Litton Das fell next at 41 runs, caught by Evin Lewis off another delivery from Seales. Das managed only 4 runs off 19 balls. 

Captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz was the third to depart at 54 runs. Seales struck again, dismissing the skipper after he faced just 5 balls and scored a single run. 

Tanzid Hasan provided a glimmer of hope with an aggressive 46 off 33 balls, smashing two sixes and four boundaries. However, he fell to Justin Greaves, with Roston Chase catching his misjudged shot at 64 runs. 

Afif Hossain contributed 24 runs off 29 balls before being dismissed by Gudakesh Motie at 100 runs. Gudakesh struck again just 4 runs later, trapping Jaker Ali lbw. 

At 115 runs, Bangladesh suffered another blow as Rishad Hossain was dismissed for a duck by Marquino Mindley. Facing 8 deliveries, Rishad failed to add any runs to the total.

After the fall of 7th wicket, Mahmudullah and Tanzim Hasan Sakib held the ground, and built a strong partnership to stabilize the innings.

Mahmudullah scored 61 off 89 delivries while Sakib was dismissed at 45 off 61 by Roston Chase.

West Indies’ bowlers, particularly Jayden Seales and Gudakesh Motie, have put their team in a commanding position.

In the first Bangladesh vs West Indies ODI on Sunday, the Windies bagged a five-wicket win over Bangladesh.
