KARACHI: Singer Zaain ul Abideen has alleged that music band Bayaan, Hassan Raheem and Rovali copied his debut song ‘Chue Chue‘ in their new song ‘Maand‘.

In a video posted on his social media, Zaain claimed that his song ‘Chue Chue’ was released in 2009 and earned him a nomination for Best Singer of the Year at the Lux Awards in 2010.

Leveling accusation on Bayaan, Zaain said that his song was used without permission or credit in ‘Maand’, which was released on Bayaan’s official YouTube channel on December 16 and has since gained popularity.

Zaain’s debut song ‘Chue Chue’ has gained a total of 0.624 million views on his official YouTube channel. On the other hand, ‘Maand’, posted on the official YouTube channel of Bayaan, has been viewed for just 0.194 million times so far.

Produced by Sarmad Shafique and Rovalio, ‘Maand’ is composed by Bayaan, Hasan Raheem, and Rovalio while its lyrics are penned by Asfar Hussain and Hasan Raheem.

Sharing his feelings on social media, Zaain said he is having feeling of betrayal and disappointment as he put so much effort and “emotional energy” into the production of ‘Chue Chue’.

He also called attention to the massive social media platforms of the accused party, arguing that they are unfairly benefiting from his work. Zaain has urged those responsible, including Sony Music Entertainment, to own up to their actions and give proper credit to the original creators.

As of now, Bayaan, Hasan Raheem, and Rovali have not responded to the allegations leveled by Zaain, who have called upon the public to support him in his battle against plagiarism and intellectual property rights violation. When contacted for a response, Bayaan’s management did not comment on the issue.

The plagiarism allegations have sparked a debate in the music industry, with many calling for greater respect for intellectual property rights.
