Belarus President arrives in Islamabad on state visit

ISLAMABAD: Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko arrived in Islamabad on Monday on his official three-day state visit, Radio Pakistan reported.
The Belarusian president during his stay “will hold extensive talks with Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and discuss areas of bilateral cooperation and engagement”, according to the foreign office.
Several agreements and Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will also be signed during the visit.
On Sunday, a 68-member high-level delegation included Belarusian foreign minister, minister for energy, minister for justice, minister for transport, minister for natural resources, minister for emergencies, and chairman of the Military Industry Committee.

On Monday, Pakistan and Belarus signed various agreements to strengthen bilateral cooperation.
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between Shehzad Trade Links and Minsk Motor Plant for the supply of products.
Another MoU was finalized between Nutrifood & Pharmaceuticals and Belcat to enhance Pakistan-Belarus collaboration in the pharmaceutical and nutrition sectors.
Additionally, an agreement was signed between Mustafa Brothers and Bel-Vetuniform for the supply of veterinary medicines.
ISHAQ DAR MEETS BELARUS FM
Deputy Prime Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Foreign Minister of Belarus Maxim Ryzhenkov met on Monday and the two sides expressed satisfaction at the momentum of bilateral exchanges and high level visits between Pakistan and Belarus.
The two sides expressed the hope that President Aleksandr Lukashenko’s visit will further boost bilateral relations.
They also discussed key regional and global developments, including the situation in the Middle East.
