The English captain has become just the third player in men’s Test cricket history to achieve both 6,000 runs and 200 wickets.

Ben Stokes reached the milestone by dismissing West Indies batter Kirk McKenzie, marking his 200th Test wicket. The accomplishment places him alongside legends Sir Garfield Sobers and Jacques Kallis in an exclusive club known for their dual prowess in batting and bowling.

Stokes’ versatility and impact across different cricket formats is evident in his aggressive batting and effective fast-medium bowling. His role was crucial to England’s Test cricket success through consistent and pivotal performances.

Besides his milestone wicket, Stokes showcased his bowling prowess with additional maiden overs, keeping a tight rein on the West Indies batting lineup. He extended his tally by dismissing Mikyle Louis securing his 201st Test wicket.

Stokes has made significant batting contributions throughout his career. The English has amassed a total of 6,316 runs in Test cricket. His ability to perform reliably under pressure has cemented his role as a key player in England’s middle-order.

Looking ahead, Stokes is aiming to continue building on his achievements compared to Sobers and Kallis. Sir Garfield Sobers accumulated 8,032 runs and 235 wickets throughout his career. Meanwhile, Jacques Kallis amassed an impressive 13,289 runs and 292 wickets, making him one of greatest players in history.
