NAUDERO: Pakistan People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has announced a historic public assembly in Garhi Khuda Bakhsh after Eid to commemorate the death anniversary of former prime minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto.
Addressing a crowd in Naudero, Bilawal emphasized the need for judicial reforms to rectify the historical injustice of Bhutto’s judicial assassination and the lack of a fair trial.
“The upcoming gathering in Garhi Khuda Bakhsh is set to be a historic event, coinciding with a notable anniversary of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto,” he said.
Reflecting on the recent elections, Bilawal remarked on the unique position of the Pakistan People’s Party, likened to a decisive stage in government formation, despite no party securing an outright majority.
Bilawal expressed hope that collaborative efforts across parties would lead to problem-solving and governmental delivery to address economic challenges. He urged for responsible action and cooperation, highlighting the need for wise fund allocation and open dialogue between government officials and the public.
The PPP leader outlined initiatives aimed at supporting the underprivileged, including providing free solar electricity and expediting the Sindh Farmer Card’s issuance.
He also mentioned the ongoing implementation of the Benazir Labour Card, offering facilities to laborers. Bilawal reiterated the party’s commitment to fulfilling 80 per cent of the Charter of Democracy, signed by Benazir Bhutto with PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif, and called for the completion of judicial reforms as the remaining agenda. He commended the party’s performance in the elections and noted the continued dismay of the opposition.
“Judicial reforms are the remaining part of the Charter of Democracy, and now we must demand these reforms. We will bring reforms to the judiciary that will provide justice to the people. We will demand from the government to implement the Charter of Democracy,” he said adding: “I congratulate you on showing results in this election, and to this day, your opponents are crying.
Bilawal said that the thought was that all parties would come together to solve problems. With the intention of jointly finding solutions, support was given to the government. It is hoped that the government will deliver and overcome economic difficulties. The provincial governments in Sindh and Balochistan will deliver, he said
“You must act responsibly, just as responsibilities were shared during the elections. Now, we must work together. Funds must be allocated wisely. The Sindh chief minister of and provincial ministers should hold open courts in their areas and discuss projects with public representatives. The provincial government should strive to implement the public economic agreement,” he said.
