KARACHI: Bionic Films CEO, Salman Farooqi, who brutally assaulted a young motorcyclist in the upscale Defence area of Karachi in the presence of the victim’s sister, has been arrested by police.
A case had been registered against the accused at the Gizri Police Station.
The incident occurred a day earlier in the Defence-Gizri area following a collision between a car and a motorcycle.
Enraged by the incident, the influential car driver assaulted the motorcyclist. Despite repeated pleas for mercy by the victim’s sister, the attacker showed no remorse.
The sisters, who work at a nearby salon in Defence, are picked up daily by their brother.
An eyewitness said the incident took place around 8pm on Sunday when the motorcyclist’s vehicle slightly brushed against the suspect’s car.
The influential man then attacked the young man. According to the eyewitness, while he didn’t know the boy, he was aware the girl worked at a nearby salon. The suspect also reportedly claimed to be a government official.
Viral videos of the incident circulating on social media show the young man’s sister pleading with Salman Farooqi, even falling at his feet and begging for forgiveness, while also appealing to bystanders for help. However, neither did Farooqi relent nor did anyone from the crowd intervene.

SHO Gizri, Farooq Sanjrani, confirmed that action is under way. So far, three individuals have been detained and one vehicle has been impounded.
Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar has taken notice of the incident and ordered strict action against the accused.
