Blasts in Balochistan: three day mourning announced

QUETTA: Caretaker Balochistan government has announced three day mourning in view of the two blasts that rocked the province killing more than 20 people while reaffirming that the elections will proceed as scheduled.
At least 28 people were killed and over 40 others injured Wednesday in two separate explosions targeting election candidates in Balochistan, just a day before general elections in Pakistan.
The first attack claimed at least 15 people’s lives while over 30 were injured after an explosion took place outside an independent candidate’s office in Balochistan’s Pishin while the second blast took place outside the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) office in the Killa Saifullah district.
In response to the tragedy, he caretaker CM Balochistan has declared a three-day period of mourning to honor the martyrs.
Caretaker Information Minister Jan Achakzai expressed his condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the blasts, deeming the incidents as deeply saddening.

Despite the unfortunate events, Achakzai assured the public that tomorrow’s elections in Balochistan will proceed peacefully.
However, he cautioned that the number of casualties may rise as more information becomes available.
The explosions were attributed to the detonation of explosives, according to the Balochistan Information Minister.
Achakzai asserted that the fight against terrorism will persist until the very last terrorist is eliminated.
Achakzai condemned India as an international terrorist country and urged the people to defy the terrorists’ sinister intentions by participating in the elections without fear.
He remained resolute in affirming that terrorists will not succeed in achieving their malevolent objectives.
Despite the challenges posed by the blasts, Achakzai emphasized that elections will proceed as planned, underscoring the resilience and determination of the people of Balochistan
