The former glamour couple has been embroiled in a legal battle over the $50 million winery for almost a decade now. Just when it looked like the dispute was nearing a resolution, Pitt’s request for Jolie’s previous NDAs sparked new tensions between the now-bitter exes.

Pitt’s legal team reportedly asked Jolie to gather and deliver all her past NDAs to him and his legal representatives. This move has been met with strong opposition from Jolie’s lawyers, who have labeled the request as expensive, wasteful, and unreasonable.

The crux of the matter revolves around an extensive non-disclosure agreement that Brad Pitt allegedly asked Angelina Jolie to sign concerning an incident during a flight from France to United States (US) in 2016.

Several news outlets and even tabloids claim that Brad Pitt had an altercation on the flight with the couple’s older son Maddox. Pitt has also been accused of being abusive towards one of their children that forced Jolie to finally divorce him.

News outlets allege this was the final straw for the “Tomb Raider” actress following years of reportedly tolerating his anger outbursts caused by Pitt’s alcoholism. The airplane incident has since been a focal point in the couple’s legal battles.

Jolie’s legal counsel argues that Pitt’s request for her past NDAs constitutes a significant invasion of privacy, not only for her but also for third parties such as movie studios, brands, and employees who may be mentioned in those agreements. They contend that Pitt’s intention to scrutinise Jolie’s entire history of NDAs is unnecessary and irrelevant to the case at hand.

The Tomb Raider actress’ lawyers claim that Pitt’s request is part of a broader strategy to undermine her credibility and deflect attention from the core issue – the winery dispute. Her legal counsel claims that Pitt’s motion reflects an attempt to shift the focus away from his alleged abusive behavior and towards Jolie’s past contractual agreements that they argue has no bearing on the case.

A hearing on the matter is scheduled for May 16, although it is unlikely that a trial will take place this year.
