Braves game postponed due to rain; split doubleheader scheduled for Wednesday

WEB DESK: The scheduled Major League Baseball game between the New York Mets and Atlanta Braves on Tuesday night was postponed due to heavy rain expected in the New York area.
The National Weather Service had forecast up to two inches of rain along with winds reaching 15 mph later in the evening, forcing officials to call off the contest.
The postponed fixture will now be played as part of a split doubleheader on Wednesday, with both teams set to complete the series through two games.
The Braves are expected to rely on left-handed pitcher Chris Sale and right-hander Grant Holmes, while the Mets are likely to hand the ball to righty Christian Scott and left-hander Sean Manaea. However, the starting pitchers for Game One and Game Two have not yet been confirmed.
The postponement came after the Mets made a dominant start to the series, defeating their National League East rivals 14-3 in the opening game on Monday.
