Britney Spears has checked into a treatment facility weeks after her recent DUI arrest, as concerns around the singer’s wellbeing continue to grow.

A representative confirmed that Spears voluntarily entered the facility on April 12, just over a month after she was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol in Ventura, California, on March 4.

Move follows DUI arrest

Spears, 44, was released a day after the arrest, with her representative previously describing the incident as “completely inexcusable”.

At the time, her team said she would “take the right steps and comply with the law”, adding that the focus would be on getting her the support she needs.

Support system steps in

Her representatives also said that her loved ones are working on a plan to support her wellbeing during this period.

Spears shares two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, with her ex-husband Kevin Federline, and they are expected to spend time with her as she focuses on recovery.

Concerns resurface

The development comes amid renewed concern around Spears’ wellbeing following the end of her conservatorship in 2021.

Federline previously expressed worries in his memoir, saying he felt it was “time to sound the alarm” over her behaviour.

A representative for Spears later responded, saying her children’s wellbeing remains her top priority.

A step towards recovery

Spears has previously spoken openly about her mental health and the need for healing following years under the conservatorship.

Her decision to enter treatment now marks a fresh step towards stability and support.
