Building collapse in Multan leaves at least six dead

MULTAN: A three-story building collapsed in Multan early Tuesday, leaving six people dead and several injured. The collapse happened in Jawadian Mohalla, triggering rescue efforts.
Rescue teams were able to evacuate eight individuals from the debris. However, the Deputy Commissioner of Multan confirmed six casualties. The injured were taken to a local hospital, with two later transferred to Nishtar Hospital for further treatment.
Amidst the chaos, the city’s Deputy Commissioner and City Police Officer (CPO) rushed to the accident site to oversee rescue operations and coordinate with the authorities on the ground.

The cause of the collapse is currently under investigation.
Earlier, in Khyber district, a house roof collapse killed six family members, including women and children, on March 3 in Zakhakhel Bazaar. As per local authorities, the incident followed continuous rainfall weakening the structure.
Similarly, in Karachi, a madrasa roof collapse on March 1 killed a 12-year-old child and injured another. Rescue workers recovered the victims, with the injured child taken to a hospital and the body to a morgue.
In November last year, part of a three-story building collapsed in Lahore’s Services Hospital. No casualties were reported as the building was under construction and empty at the time.
