LDA gears up to meet deadline for Lahore’s Bund Road project

LAHORE: In a move to ensure the timely completion of the Bund Road project, the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has unveiled an action plan and intensified efforts to expedite the remaining work.
A meeting, chaired by the Caretaker Minister for Housing, Syed Azfar Ali Nasir, alongside Commissioner and DG LDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa, took place on Monday to discuss the project’s progress.
During the session, Chief Engineer Israr Saeed provided an in-depth briefing on both project packages and presented a meticulous action plan for the swift conclusion of pending tasks.
Minister Nasir stressed the need to accelerate ongoing work on the Badha Ravi Bridge, expedite the filling process in the high-rise area of Package Two, and increase the daily dumpers to enhance efficiency.
Chief Engineer Saeed highlighted the rapid progress of shuttering work on the Gulshan-e-Ravi T Junction drain, affirming the commitment of the contractors to engage additional labour and augment machinery for both project packages.
Minister Nasir and Commissioner/DG LDA Randhawa commended the efforts of the LDA Chief Engineer and his team, urging the contractors to meet daily targets.
Minister Nasir reiterated the availability of all necessary resources to meet the project’s deadline, as set by the Chief Minister.
He sternly warned against any lapse in construction activities, emphasising a zero-tolerance approach to delays.
Commissioner Lahore and DG LDA Randhawa instructed the project director to submit progress and monitoring reports after each shift to ensure rigorous oversight of the project’s advancement.
