Bund Road corridor project in Lahore surpasses 70% completion

LAHORE: Caretaker Provincial Minister for Housing, Azfar Ali Nasir, recently undertook a comprehensive inspection of the Bund Road Controlled Access Corridor.
The minister reviewed the project’s progress, assessed material quality, and evaluated overall arrangements in line with special directives from the caretaker chief minister.
These directives underscore the significance of continuous monitoring and day/night inspections by provincial ministers to expedite the completion of all development projects.
During the inspection, Minister Nasir received a detailed briefing on Bund Road Package Two, stretching from Saggian to Babu Sabu, which is currently at an impressive 70 percent completion. Similarly, Package One, covering Niazi Chowk to Saggian, has surpassed the 75 percent completion milestone.
The minister stressed the importance of rigorous monitoring to ensure uninterrupted project progress, urging relevant departments to promptly address any challenges.
Minister Nasir emphasised that the timely and high-quality completion of these projects is crucial for resolving traffic-related issues in the city.
He reiterated the significance of adhering to the designated timeline for project completion, highlighting the pivotal role these road developments play in enhancing transportation connectivity and contributing to the city’s aesthetic appeal.
Simultaneously, the Central Business District Punjab (CBD Punjab) has been making notable progress in the construction of the CBD Punjab Boulevard Walton Railway Crossing Flyovers.
The construction is ongoing day and night, with CEO CBD Punjab, Imran Amin, overseeing the project’s direct supervision and setting a constant pace to meet its goals.
In a recent project review meeting chaired by CEO Imran Amin, ongoing developments were assessed, and the project’s steadfast pace was highlighted.
Updates from the meeting included the completion of steel fixing for both piers and abutments, as well as the concrete pouring of Flyover Two caps.
The CBD Punjab Boulevard Railway Crossing Flyovers, connecting CBD Punjab Quaid District and CBD Punjab Bob District, aim to provide seamless access from Gulberg Main Boulevard to Walton Road.
CEO Imran Amin expressed optimism about the project’s timely completion, commending the collaborative efforts of CBD Punjab, NLC, Nespak, and the contractor. Ensuring a modern infrastructure for Lahore remains a top priority for CBD Punjab.
Concurrently, work on the Walton Road upgrade is addressing traffic and sewage issues, benefiting Walton and its surrounding population. CEO Imran Amin urged the efficient use of all resources to meet project deadlines.
CBD Punjab has also initiated the Major Ishaq Shaheed Flyover project, contributing to the ongoing enhancement of Lahore’s infrastructure.
