Bushra Bibi shifted for post-eye surgery check-up at Rawalpindi hospital

Bushra Bibi underwent a medical examination at a private hospital in Rawalpindi on Wednesday, according to sources. After the examination, Bushra Bibi was shifted back to Adiala Jail, where she is currently incarcerated, the sources said.

They added that she also received treatment at the private hospital during her visit. No further details regarding her medical condition or the nature of the treatment were immediately disclosed.

Earlier in April, Bushra Bibi underwent eye surgery after complaining of blurred vision in her right eye. According to jail authorities, specialists diagnosed her with retinal detachment following a medical examination and recommended immediate surgery. She was shifted to a private hospital in Rawalpindi on April 16, where the procedure was carried out by Professor Dr Nadeem Qureshi and his team.

Officials had said the surgery was successful and that Bushra Bibi remained under observation overnight before being discharged and transferred back to jail. Authorities also stated at the time that she would continue to receive post-operative care and follow-up medical examinations in line with doctors’ recommendations.
