Car crash on Karakoram Highway kills eight of same family

GILGIT: At least eight members of the same family died when the car they were traveling in plunged into a ravine in the Lower Kohistan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday.
According to Rescue 1122 spokesperson Malik Sharif, the accident occurred on the Karakoram Highway in the Patan Matt Banda area of Lower Kohistan. A car traveling from Gilgit to Punjab lost control and fell into a deep ravine.
The spokesperson stated that their team, along with police and local residents, reached the scene shortly after receiving an emergency call. They successfully recovered eight individuals from the wrecked car, but despite their efforts, all eight victims succumbed to their injuries.

Rescue 1122 identified the deceased as Asif Iqbal, a resident of Rawalpindi Cantt; his wife, Maimoona Iqbal; another woman, Bushra Iqbal (wife of Muhammad Waseem Bhatti); and five children.
The bodies were given initial medical aid before being transported to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in Patan for further procedures.
