CBD Lahore CEO removed for delay in completion of Walton Road Project in Lahore

LAHORE: In a decisive move, Caretaker Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Mohsin Naqvi has relieved Imran Amin of his duties as the CEO of Central Business District (CBD) due to the sluggish progress of the Walton Road Lahore project.

Imran Amin, who had been serving as the CEO of CBD on an acting basis while simultaneously holding the position of CEO at Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA), faced the consequences of the project’s slow pace under his leadership.

Following Amin’s removal, the CM has assigned the responsibility of overseeing CBD affairs to the Secretary of Housing. Caretaker CM Naqvi personally inspected the CBD Punjab Boulevard, focusing on the ongoing construction at Main Boulevard and the Walton Road Railway Crossing Flyover Project.

Expressing his concern over the delays and unresolved issues, CM Naqvi voiced his displeasure, citing a 22-day setback. He stressed the imperative of adhering to timelines for timely project completion.

Dissatisfied with the progress, Naqvi questioned the cause of the delay and urged the immediate resolution of any outstanding issues. Emphasising the importance of time, he underscored the urgency of adhering to the project timeline.

The Chief Minister particularly highlighted the absence of work on the bridge connecting Lahore Bridge and reprimanded the authorities for the oversight. He directed them to expedite the project to ensure citizens’ convenience.

During the review of the project’s status, Naqvi instructed the utilisation of all necessary resources to guarantee its early completion.

According to The News, he underscored the significance of CBD Punjab Boulevard, Kalma Chowk to Walton Road, as it provides easy access to CBD Punjab, Quaid District, and CBD Punjab Baab District.

This swift action by CM Naqvi underscores the government’s commitment to timely and efficient project execution for the benefit of the citizens and the overall development of Punjab.
