CDA moves to place owners of 99 illegal housing schemes on ECL

ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has declared 99 housing and farm-housing schemes in Islamabad illegal and unauthorised, warning them against marketing and advertising without prior approval.
In a statement, the CDA said it had decided to place the names of the sponsors and owners of these illegal housing schemes on the exit control list (ECL).
A letter has also been sent to NADRA to obtain data of individuals involved in sponsoring these projects in violation of the law, the CDA said.
According to the authority, these housing schemes have not secured formal approval from the CDA and are being developed in restricted areas of Zone 3 and Zone 4. The civic agency has cautioned the developers to immediately stop all illegal activities.

A notice issued by the CDA lists the illegal housing schemes, including: Royal City Housing Scheme Lehtrar Road, Japan Valley Kirpa, Ghauri Garden, Satti Town, Simly Valley, Dhanyal Town, Gakhar Town, Osama Town, Abdullah Town, Qurtuba Town, Muzaffarabad Town, Safe Garden, Doctors Enclave, Green Enclave, Babar Enclave, Marwah Town, Media City 1 Kirpa Road, Government Officers Cooperative Society, Badr Farms, Green Field, Bhara Kahu Enclave, Bani Gala Hill View, City View, Capital Garden, Dreamland City, Faisal Town, all phases of Ghauri Town, Green Valley 1 and 2, Gulberg Town 1 and 2 (Lehtrar Road), Gulf Residencia, Hill View, Iqbal Town, Ittefaq Town, Jammu & Kashmir Farm Housing Scheme, Kayani Town, Madina Town, Muslim Town, OGDCL Town, PTV Colony, Spring Valley, Yar Muhammad Society, among others.
In light of the decision, the CDA has initiated the process of placing the names of the owners and sponsors of these schemes on the ECL.
Earlier, the CDA announced that all residential and commercial buildings constructed over nullahs without the approval of the civic agency or a hydrological study will be sealed.
The decision was taken during a meeting chaired by CDA Chairman and Islamabad Chief Commissioner Muhammad Ali Randhawa.
