ISLAMABAD: The federal capital is preparing to welcome a new architectural emblem of ambition and hospitality, as the Capital Development Authority (CDA) moves toward constructing Islamabad’s first seven-star hotel in the heart of the Red Zone.
Officials confirm that all administrative and technical formalities have been completed, setting the stage for a project designed to host foreign dignitaries during the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit.
According to sources, CDA has issued an international tender, inviting leading global firms to partner in what is being described as one of the city’s most refined undertakings to date. The tender outlines that the hotel will be developed under a public-private partnership or a joint venture model, ensuring international expertise steers the project’s execution.
The chosen site, Islamabad’s highly sensitive Red Zone, also signals the government’s intent to align the capital with the world’s most prominent political and diplomatic centers. Plans for the hotel include expansive conference halls, state-of-the-art meeting rooms, grand banquet spaces, and an array of luxury suites designed to accommodate visiting delegations in a setting of understated opulence.
A modern, multilayered security system is to anchor the project, complemented by a large multi-storey parking facility meant to streamline access for official and diplomatic guests.
CDA officials express confidence that the hotel will not only elevate Islamabad’s skyline but also serve as a testament to Pakistan’s evolving architectural and diplomatic aspirations. They note that timely completion remains a top priority, with the SCO summit serving as the project’s first major test.
If completed on schedule, the seven-star hotel is expected to stand as both a practical asset for high-level international engagements and a symbolic stride forward in projecting a modern, polished image of Pakistan to the world.
