CDF Asim Munir celebrates Eid with troops in Kurram, vows firm response to security threats

Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Syed Asim Munir spent Eid with soldiers in Kurram, where he offered Eid prayers, met frontline troops and praised their professionalism, morale and operational performance, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations.

The military’s media wing said the army chief was warmly received on arrival by the corps commander Peshawar and later joined troops for Eid prayers, during which prayers were also offered for Pakistan’s stability and prosperity. During the visit, he paid tribute to soldiers for their role in Operation Ghazab-ul-Haq and commended them for helping dismantle militant networks.

The ISPR said the field marshal reaffirmed that Pakistan’s armed forces remain fully committed to defending the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. He also said Pakistan would not allow threats to its security to emanate from militant hideouts operating from inside Afghanistan, stressing that Afghan soil must not be used for activities against Pakistan.

According to the statement, he told troops that recent operational successes were the result of the sacrifices of martyrs and the unwavering resolve of soldiers serving on the frontlines.
