CEC Sikandar Sultan Raja declares election 100% transparent, peaceful

ISLAMABAD: Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja on Thursday said that the election was 100 percent transparent and peaceful, and the polling process continued without any interruption.

During a visit to the Election Commission Pakistan’s headquarters, talking to the media he claimed that no citizen was stopped from casting their vote.

He said that in case of any connectivity issue, the relevant presiding officer would go to the office of the returning officer and provide Form 45. He said that after uploading Form 45 in the Election Management System (EMS), the form would automatically be received by the returning officer (RO) where the internet service would be restored.

He said that according to the law, if there was a request to extend the time till noon, the time would have been extended. He said that the time was extended at three polling stations in Gujarat because the relevant ROs had requested to extend the time.
