San Jose Sharks fans flooded social media Monday night celebrating Macklin Celebrini’s 100-point milestone after his two-goal, one-assist performance helped the Sharks edge the St. Louis Blues 5-4 at SAP Center. The teenager became the sixth in NHL history to reach the 100-point mark in a single season, joining legends like Sidney Crosby, Wayne Gretzky, and Mario Lemieux.

“Didn’t think I’d hit 100 this year, but I have amazing teammates who helped me get here,” Celebrini told reporters. “Our goal is to win every night.” Sharks supporters were quick to praise his composure and skill, sharing highlights of his milestone goals across X and Instagram.

Adam Gaudette sealed the win with a dramatic goal just 22 seconds from the final buzzer. Gaudette’s wrist shot deflected off Blues goalie Joel Hofer’s glove and slid through his pads, giving San Jose a crucial victory in the Western Conference wild-card race.

Sharks Surge in Wild-Card Race

Alexander Wennberg added two power-play goals and an assist, while Tyler Toffoli and Will Smith contributed two assists each. Goalie Yaroslav Askarov made 22 saves as the Sharks improved to 34-31-7, moving two points behind the Nashville Predators for the second Western Conference wild card spot. “We’ve shown resiliency and kept competing through adversity,” Sharks coach Ryan Warsofsky said.

St. Louis, meanwhile, had its four-game winning streak snapped. Pavel Buchnevich, Philip Broberg, Cam Fowler, and rookie Theo Lindstein, who scored his first NHL goal, found the net for the Blues. Hofer made 24 saves, but the team remains four points behind Nashville with a game in hand. Blues coach Jim Montgomery called the result “disappointing” despite his players’ fightback.

The game featured multiple momentum swings, including Celebrini’s milestone power-play goal, Wennberg’s second-period scoring surge, and a late third-period comeback by the Blues capped by Fowler’s equalizer. Fans and analysts alike highlighted the back-and-forth intensity as a playoff-like showcase, underscoring both Celebrini’s rise as a teenage star and San Jose’s push for postseason contention.
