Chahat Fateh Ali Khan, the renowned Pakistani singing sensation, has once again caused a stir on the internet with the release of his highly awaited anthem for the upcoming ICC World Cup 2023.

This singer, who is famous for his distinctive music, utilised his social media platforms to offer a glimpse of his latest creation to his fans and followers. Earlier in February, Chahat also released a Pakistan Super League (PSL) anthem, which also became a top attraction on social media for Pakistani fans.

However, this time around, Ustad Chahat Fateh Ali Khan has released a mesmerising combination of a hopeful prayer “Jeeteingay bai jeeteingay,” opening of Iqbal’s children’s poem “Lab Pe Aati Hai Dua”, and a quick rundown of Pakistan’s matches in the tournament.

In the accompanying video, posted on X by the singer, he can be seen joyfully dancing to his tunes, that are noticeably similar to Indian dance music and carry energetic notes, apt for a sports anthem.

He has been hinting at the release of the song since late September, and finally shared a glimpse into the final piece on Tuesday night. Here is a glimpse:

Netizens have reacted to the new release in a myriad of ways ranging from pure delight to sarcastic dismissal. One social media user wrote that with this new release the popularity contest between Chahat Fateh Ali Khan and Nawaz Sharif has become even more intense.

Another user wrote, “History is a witness that whenever Chahat Fateh Ali Khan has sung the cricket anthem, then the Pakistani team has won. Last time, he sang PSL song, and Pakistan won PSL easily.”

An astute user pointed out an error in the lyrics that Pakistan will be contesting with Netherlands and not Holland.
