Child killed in Peshawar roof collapse


PESHAWAR: The recent spell of heavy rainfall brought devastation to the residents of Peshawar, as roofs collapsed at different locations and claimed lives, including of a young girl late on Friday.

In the small village of Badaber within the Peshawar district, a young girl lost her life when the ceiling of her room collapsed due to the intense rainfall.

Despite rescue attempts, the collapse claimed the young girl’s life.

Elsewhere, in the neighbourhood of Tajabad in Peshawar, the roofs of two houses gave way under the relentless onslaught of rain. Several people were injured due to the falling debris, including a woman.

Efforts to rescue the victims from the rubble began immediately. The injured were then transported to nearby hospitals for medical care.

Tourists trapped in Malam Jabba

Six tourists found themselves stranded in Malam Jabba for over ten hours as heavy snowfall engulfed the area.

According to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), the tourists were trapped due to heavy snowfall.

PDMA stated that the district administration and other concerned agencies were on high alert to respond to any kind of emergencies give extreme weather conditions.
