Civil society vital for sustainable development in Balochistan: Field Marshal

ISLAMABAD: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has said that Balochistan holds a key position in Pakistan’s prosperity and development, and that the province’s economic potential is being harnessed through policies focused on public welfare.
According to ISPR, participants of the 18th National Workshop on Balochistan visited GHQ, where they met Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.
The workshop focused on Balochistan’s social and economic development and its strategic importance.
The Field Marshal commended the patriotism and steadfastness of the people of Balochistan, highlighting the province’s critical role in Pakistan’s overall growth and prosperity.
He expressed satisfaction over pro-people development initiatives by the federal and provincial governments, stressing the need to utilise Balochistan’s economic potential for the benefit of its people.
Field Marshal Munir further praised the courage, patriotism, and resilience of Balochistan’s residents, noting that public welfare-oriented policies are enabling the province to realise its economic capabilities.
He also emphasized the role of civil society in countering propaganda and promoting sustainable development.
He underlined that rejecting personal and political agendas is vital for Balochistan’s bright future.
He warned that proxy elements sponsored by India are attempting to create instability in Balochistan, and said that security forces will thwart all hostile designs through strict action.
The Field Marshal reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to regional peace and stability, stating that any violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty or territorial integrity will be met with a decisive response.
He emphasized that Pakistan’s Armed Forces remain fully committed to protecting the lives and property of its citizens. The session concluded with a detailed question-and-answer segment, during which the Field Marshal responded to participants’ queries.
