ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa emphasized the right of every citizen to disagree with the judiciary while underscoring the importance of respecting and revering the judicial system.

He made these remarks during the launch event of the e-campus of the Federal Judicial Academy in Islamabad.

CJP Isa highlighted the significance of the academy, noting that it operates under a strong board, including important personalities.

He expressed his surprise at discovering his role as the chairman of the Federal Judicial Academy when he became the chief justice.

Suggesting that subordinate judiciary officers should learn from each other’s experiences, CJP Isa acknowledged the commendable work of the 3,200 judges across the country.

He welcomed the use of technology in the judiciary, particularly the live broadcast of court proceedings, providing a learning opportunity for judges, lawyers, and legal students.

While acknowledging the downsides of live broadcasting, including personal critiques, CJP Isa stressed the importance of technology as a tool, similar to a pen mentioned in the holy Quran. He encouraged the use of technology to enhance transparency and education in the legal system.

The Chief Justice expressed concerns about the trend of all issues reaching the Supreme Court directly, suggesting the need to discourage fabricated cases and impose damages on those filing such cases. He emphasized that live broadcasting of public interest cases serves as a means of education for judges, lawyers, and the general public.

CJP Isa conveyed his best wishes for the success of the Federal Judicial Academy and urged High Courts to arrange training programs for their staff. He emphasized the role of district courts in ensuring transparency in the judicial system and advised judges to show respect to lawyers, emphasizing the importance of a fair and respectful treatment in the legal profession.
