KARACHI: The newly appointed Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah took to the podium in the inaugural session of the Sindh Assembly with a solemn pledge to learn from past mistakes and serve the people of Sindh with unwavering dedication.

Amidst the ambiance of political fervour and anticipation, Shah acknowledged the reservations surrounding the election results but assured a commitment to pursue legal avenues for resolution.

In his address, Shah reiterated the enduring legacy of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and expressed a determination to uphold its values while steering clear of past missteps. He vowed to extend the PPP’s influence beyond Sindh, striving to garner support from the other provinces in the future to vote it to power in centre.

Highlighting his administration’s past achievements, Shah showcased initiatives such as the farmer and worker cards, the hunger eradication programme in Tharparkar and Umerkot, and efforts to secure a fair wage for labourers.

He underscored the party’s ambitious vision, including Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s mission to provide clean drinking water throughout Sindh and the establishment of youth centres and solar projects across the province.

Despite the challenges ahead, Shah exuded confidence and resilience. Assuring his unwavering resolve, he declared, “We will not be scared of difficulties, neither before nor in the future.”

Recognizing the imperative of addressing security concerns, Shah pledged to prioritize national security and stability, particularly in the face of recent terrorist incidents. He outlined plans to bolster law enforcement efforts, including the elimination of bandits in Kacha, as a top priority.

In a notable gesture of support, Shah urged his allies to back Asif Zardari for the presidency, citing Zardari’s pivotal role in restoring the constitution and his commitment to future leadership roles.

With optimism for the path ahead, Shah envisioned a promising future under the leadership of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, aspiring to elevate him to the position of prime minister in the next elections.
