CM Sohail Afridi approves key decisions on prisons, vehicle registration, development affairs

Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Sohail Afridi has approved several key decisions concerning prisons, vehicle registration and development affairs.
The decisions were approved during a cabinet meeting chaired by the chief minister on Saturday.
The cabinet approved the establishment of the KP Witness Protection Board and two units under provincial Witness Protection Act, 2021.
According to provincial spokesperson Shafi Jan, the board will be responsible for formulating policy guidelines and overseeing the functioning of the two units.
Shafi Jan said the Witness Protection Act was introduced to provide protection in sensitive criminal and terrorism-related cases.
The cabinet also approved a new agreement and revised rates for vehicle registration documents.
It further approved a special two-month remission for prisoners convicted of minor offences.
The cabinet also approved presenting the issue of water supply from Galiyat to Murree before the Council of Common Interests (CCI).
It further approved presenting the annual report of the Provincial Ombudsman before the provincial assembly.
