RAWALPINDI: The Congo virus has claimed the lives of two individuals in Rawalpindi, who were admitted to Benazir Bhutto Hospital for treatment.

According to hospital sources, three patients affected by the Congo virus were transferred from Attock last month, two of whom have succumbed to the illness.

While speaking to Geo News, Junaid, a physician at Benazir Bhutto Hospital in Rawalpindi, said that the Congo virus has a high fatality rate of only 10 per cent.

Symptoms of Congi Virus

Symptoms of the Congo virus include gum, nasal, and skin bleeding, alongside a persistent high fever.

In response to the rise in new cases, the Punjab Health Department has taken proactive measures, dispatching a specialised team of nine doctors to Attock.
