Couple in Sargodha arrested for killing maid

SARGODHA: Police in Sargodha arrested a couple on charges of torturing and fatally injuring their maid.

District Police Officer Muhammad Faisal Kamran, addressing a press conference on Tuesday, revealed that Jawad Bhatti from Jalalpur Bhattian had hired Aisha Bibi two months prior.

The DPO disclosed that both the accused and his wife had subjected the girl to abuse, resulting in her tragic demise.

Following the incident, the accused fled the scene, abandoning the victim’s body at their residence. Subsequently, the deceased’s parents alerted the authorities, prompting an investigation and the registration of a case.

He further mentioned the formation of special investigation teams led by the SP Investigation, which conducted extensive raids across various districts and arrested the suspects.
