Court orders property confiscation of top PTI leaders

GUJRANWALA: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Gujranwala has ordered the confiscation of properties of 51 Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders, including founder Imran Khan, Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Parvaiz Elahi, for their alleged involvement in the May 9 attack and arson case at Gujranwala Cantonment.

The court has declared the accused as proclaimed offenders and issued non-bailable arrest warrants for them. They are also facing charges of terrorism and murder in connection with the violence that erupted during a PTI rally on May 9, 2023.

The list of accused PTI leaders also includes Yasmin Rashid, Ijaz Chaudhry, Murad Saeed, Hamad Azhar, Farrukh Habib, Umar Ayub, Ali Amin Gandapur, Zartaj Gul, Zubair Niazi, Akram Sahi, Shaukat Bhatti, Ahmed Chatta, Bilal Ejaz and Zafarullah Cheema².

The court has ordered to displayed copies of its order at the houses of the accused and important places in the city, asking them to appear before the court or face legal action.
