Court restores Ducky Bhai’s frozen bank accounts, allows limited YouTube activity

Ducky Bhai case: Interior secretary approves resignations of four officers

WEB DESK: A judicial magistrate on Monday ordered the restoration of the bank accounts of popular YouTuber Saadur Rehman, widely known as Ducky Bhai, in a case concerning the promotion of gambling applications on social media.

Rehman appeared in court with his wife, Aroob Jatoi, and his legal team. Magistrate Naeem Wattoo approved the reactivation of the previously frozen accounts and permitted the YouTuber to upload content on his channel under certain restrictions. The court emphasised that he must avoid discussing any aspects of the ongoing case on his platform.

The magistrate noted that the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) had raised concerns over 27 videos uploaded on Rehman’s channel but instructed that these videos need not be deleted at this stage. A technical witness from the NCCIA testified during the hearing, though the agency’s prosecutor was absent. Consequently, the court adjourned proceedings until March 11.

The NCCIA had filed cases against multiple YouTubers and TikTok creators for allegedly promoting gambling apps online. Rehman was initially arrested in August 2025 and released on bail by the Lahore High Court on November 24 2025. Following his release, he accused NCCIA officials of mistreatment and humiliation during his custody.

Despite the challenges, he called the experience a turning point that strengthened his spiritual outlook. He noted that before his arrest, he often neglected prayers, but during custody, he maintained them consistently, seeing the period as an opportunity to grow closer to Allah.

Rehman also described the physical aspects of prison life, including a simple diet that led to weight loss and improved health. Reflecting on his social media career, he acknowledged that controversies now affect him more profoundly and urged fellow content creators to exercise caution. “Every YouTuber can make mistakes,” he said, warning that one misstep online can significantly alter life and career.

The interview highlights both the personal and professional lessons Rehman drew from his jail term, setting the stage for his return to online activity under legal constraints.
