WEB DESK: Authorities imposed a day-long curfew on the Bannu–Miranshah road on Saturday due to security concerns linked to the movement of security forces.

According to an official notification, the curfew was enforced on the recommendation of the Deputy Commissioner Bannu, following which the Additional Chief Secretary for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Home and Tribal Affairs Department issued formal orders.

The restrictions cover the stretch from the Bannu RPO Office to the Ghulam Khan Border. The curfew came into effect at 6am and will remain in place until 6pm on Saturday.

During the curfew period, the movement of civilians and private vehicles has been completely banned. Authorities have also directed that residents living along the Miranshah Road corridor be informed in advance to avoid inconvenience.

Officials said the measure was taken as a precautionary step in view of potential terrorist threats during security-related movement in the area. Residents have been urged to cooperate with law enforcement agencies and follow official instructions for their safety.
