Customs officials open fire in pursuit of non-custom paid vehicle

KARACHI: Customs personnel engaged in a confrontation near the Power House roundabout in New Karachi in late hours of Wednesday.

The customs officials reportedly fired shots after attempting to stop a non-custom paid vehicle, leading to a brief standoff.

According to sources, no casualties were reported.

Firing in Orangi Town

Meanwhile, armed assailants opened fire at a mobile shop in Iqbal Market located in Orangi Town, Karachi.

According to the police, one person lost his life in what the police suspect to be a case of targeted killing.

As per police reports, two unidentified attackers, one wearing a helmet and the other a mask, opened fire at the shop before fleeing the scene.

The victim, a father of three, had no known enmity with anyone. The authorities are are currently investigating the motive behind the attack.

Police operation in Baldia Town

Karachi Police on Wednesday conducted an operation in Baldia Town. The law enforcers arrested a suspect wanted in connection with multiple crimes.

As per the police, the suspect was apprehended after an alleged encounter, during which a stolen vehicle was recovered along with weapons.

The police have registered over 15 cases against the accused in various police stations across the city.
