Dan Levy has opened up about coping with the loss of his Schitt’s Creek co-star Catherine O’Hara, revealing what has helped him in the weeks following her death.

Speaking during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Levy described the loss as deeply felt, calling O’Hara “irreplaceable”.

What helped him cope

Reflecting on the aftermath of her passing, Levy said one aspect stood out as a source of comfort.

“The great comfort for me has just been to see how loved she was,” he said, pointing to the overwhelming outpouring of tributes from fans and the industry.

He added that the response made the loss feel shared, with many people feeling a personal connection to her work.

“She was the greatest. She’s irreplaceable,” he said, describing the grief as collective.

O’Hara died on January 30 after a brief illness and was widely known for her role as Moira Rose in Schitt’s Creek, as well as films including Home Alone and Beetlejuice.

Levy starred alongside O’Hara as David Rose in the hit series, alongside Eugene Levy and Annie Murphy.

He has previously described working with her as a gift, calling her an extended part of his family.
