WEB DESK: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar held a telephonic conversation on Monday with Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister, His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, to express condolences over a helicopter crash in the Kingdom that claimed 14 lives.

Dar conveyed condolences on behalf of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, the Pakistani government, and the people of Pakistan.

He described the incident as a ‘sad tragedy’ and highlighted the deep fraternal ties between the two nations.

Appreciation for brotherly gesture

His Highness Prince Faisal thanked Dar for the prompt gesture of solidarity and expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s support during this difficult time. The two foreign ministers also held in-depth discussions on the latest developments in the region. Both leaders voiced deep concern over the evolving situation and stressed need for stability.

Reaffirmation of peace efforts

The avenues of bilateral cooperation are expected to expand further as Prince Faisal conveyed his intention to visit Pakistan at the earliest on mutually convenient dates.

Welcoming the announcement, the deputy prime minister hoped the high-level visit would materialize soon, noting that it would provide an opportunity to review the entire gamut of Pak-Saudi relations and fast-track ongoing economic and strategic partnerships.
