Dengue cases on rise in Punjab

LAHORE: Punjab witnessed 42 new cases of dengue fever, with 22 of these cases reported in Lahore in the last 24 hours. This surge has propelled the total number of fever patients in Lahore this year to 304.
Throughout the current year, the count of dengue patients in Punjab has risen to 888, as per the health department’s records.
The health department also informed that within the last day, Rawalpindi recorded seven new dengue patients, while Multan and Gujranwala each reported three cases. Additionally, Attock and Gujrat each registered two cases.
Furthermore, the department highlighted that there are currently 40 patients receiving treatment for dengue fever across various hospitals in Punjab, with 21 of them admitted to Lahore-based hospitals.
Additionally, the health department has allocated a total of 2,678 beds for dengue fever patients across hospitals in Punjab, aiming to provide necessary care and support.
